It is a huge honour to represent the people of Carlow. With your support I am hoping to be re-elected on Friday, 24th May.
I went to school in Holy Family Boys School, Askea and then St. Mary’s Academy CBS. I graduated from DCU with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Economics, Politics and Law. I have also studied politics in France’s leading political university Sciences Po and interned in the United States Congress. In 2014 at the age of 22 I was elected to Carlow County Council, becoming one of the youngest Councillors in the Country.
I have been working with people throughout Carlow on a range of matters from health and housing to economic development and youth initiatives. If I am re-elected I will continue to represent you and our community to the best of my ability. If I can help on any matter please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me on 0851398139 or fphelan@carlow.ie
Finally, I would really appreciate your No. 1 vote or next highest preference on Friday, 24th May.
My Priorities
Local Infrastructure
Working with residents on improving roads, footpaths and safety measures.
Housing Support
Campaigning for greater access to mortgages and affordable housing.
Council Grants
Assisting with applications for Housing Aid, Adaptation and Mobility grants. Supporting residents associations in applying for Environmental and Amenity grants.
Environment
Tackling dog fouling and illegal dumping.
New Ideas
I will continue to propose new innovative ideas in the Council. Over the last 5 years I have spearheaded initiatives such as 30 minutes free on-street parking in Carlow Town, a Youth Consultation which opened the council up to young people, Mayor Awards which recognised the achievements of local people and a public campaign on dog fouling.
